Rock Lobster

Rock lobsters are found underwater, and farmed by the underwater Meruyan of Pontai’Desa for a variety of crops: eggs, shed hide, and occasionally for meat.

As the rock lobsters grow, they naturally shed their thick carapace, which the farmers gather up and use for building, heavy-duty protective clothing, and can be carved down to make household objects.

An individual rock lobster can live for hundreds of years and continues to grow, thus can reach gigantic sizes. More established Meruyan farms may have several of such specimens, but they release many into the wild to help repopulate them naturally, thus living with gratitude in harmony with nature.

Rock lobsters are intelligent, gentle giants, and can be befriended, tamed, and even ridden by the right Meruyan.
