Kelpie

Like a water ‘horse’, with shiny marine type scales, and a long octopus-like mouth.

Due to the wild and free spirit of these beasts, they do not just let anyone ride them.

They have become great companions of the Meruyan, who have a natural affinity for the animals, and thus formed a partnership: the Meruyan can ride them in exchange for food and lovingly spoiling their companion. For this reason, they can also leave and wander back into the sea if unhappy in their domestic life. Thus, the Warix, who have no forged bond, cannot ride Kelpies.

Males grow coral-like antlers while in heat.

Meleena’s father, Loroh, cherishes his loyal companion animal, Peela.

The Kelpie can blend in with its surroundings, and attack its prey, which is usually small tidal creatures, but they will fight viciously and even drown those they don’t like.
